Toronto native Devante Smith-Pelly is celebrating his 27th birthday, Friday. He got an amazing present.
Smith-Pelly’s hometown Toronto Raptors won their first NBA championship, defeating the Golden State Warriors 114-110 in Game Six of the NBA Finals. The Warriors have gone to the NBA Finals five straight seasons, winning three of their appearances.
DSP was out at a bar with other Raptors fans and documented some of the celebration.
DSP first pointed out that this indeed was the “best birthday ever.”
He added that I “never thought I’d see this in my life.”
This is what it looked like out at Jurassic Park.
And this is what it sounded like from 37 floors up.

The Raptors NBA championship comes a year after DSP became a Stanley Cup champion with the Washington Capitals. DSP scored seven goals in the NHL postseason that year. He’s an unrestricted free agent this summer.
